
Andrew Ermer

Andrew has practised extensively as a workplace relations lawyer for over 20 years.
Commencing in a boutique industrial relations and employment law firm in 1995, Andrew went on to work in leading international practices at Andersen Legal (a member firm of Andersen Worldwide SC), and then PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal.
In 2006, Andrew transitioned to peak employer association, The Australian Industry Group, as its Manager, National Construction Services. He was responsible for leading the delivery and management of consulting, legal, policy training and events services to members on a national level.
In 2009, Andrew joined leading construction, mining and services contractor, Thiess. As its Employee Relations Manager on the Victorian Desalination Project, he managed issues across the entirety of the $3.5 Billion undertaking. It remains the largest Public Private Partnership infrastructure project in the state’s history and employed a workforce of approximately 4,000.
At the conclusion of the Desalination Project in 2012, Andrew became responsible at Thiess for specialist employment and industrial relations law issues nationally.
Andrew’s experience includes advising and representing across industry, government and the corporate sector, managing a full range of workplace relations issues. It extends through a very broad spectrum including in the areas of Industrial Relations, Employment, Equal Employment Opportunity, Occupational Health and Safety, and in the Commercial context.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Economics and Laws from Monash University, and a Master of Laws from The University of Melbourne, specialising in Labour Relations. He maintains a current legal practising certificate.
